What? Celebrating our freedom
On the 5th of May, the Dutch celebrate their freedom and the end of World War 2. You can enjoy these celebration throughout the city. Dance your butt off at Vrijland Festival in Blijburg. Het Amsterdams Verbond is also back for a great party. For the free parties you can visit the whole Westergas and Westerpark for Het Vrije Westen, Museumsquare and the Vondel Open Air Theater for children.
Vondelpark Open Air Theatre

What? Concerts, performances and fun for children
This open air theater in the middle of the famous Vondelpark has been organizing music performances since 1974. For the next 5 months you can enjoy performances and concerts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Vintage Kilo Sale
When? 6th of May at RADION
What? Buy vintage clothing by a kilo!
Super cool initiative and this time it’s summer sale with cute tips, skirts, sunglasses and more. It works like this: you throw all your items in a bag and you pay by the kilo. yes that’s right, you weigh your treasures. You pay 15 euro per kilo, so that’s a very good deal if you do it right.
The Kloffie Market Kids Edition
When? 6th of May at the Hallen from 11am till 5pm
What? Second hand clothes for kids!
This is the first Kids Edition of the Kloffie Market. Check it out this Saturday and find the best treasures for kids! There will be a drawing competition too so bring your kids!

Learn all about making chocolate and taste your own creations including a praline dessert! Spaces are limited and cost €40,-.
Full Moon Paddle at Blijburg
When? 10th of May at Blijburg beach
What? Paddle in the moonlight!
First Full Moon Paddle this season at our Blijburg beach location. They deaprt at 19:30 and depending on wind and weather paddle to Muider castle or ‘rondje’ IJburg. Rental €25 BYO €12,50 To attend this 2 hrs tour you do need some paddle experience. Sign up via morene@mm-sup.com

De IJHallen Fleamarket
When? 13th & 14th of May, NDSM Werf
What? The biggest fleamarket in Amsterdam!
Last month we strolled around and found some cool items and vintage clothing so we can’t wait for this month! Pay 5 euro per person to get in. Kids pay 2 euro. Parking is free. Bring a warm coat because it can get chilly, even if the market is inside the large hall. Want to sell stuff?

Gin Festival
When? 19h & 20th of May at Undercurrent
What? Gin and more
After a successful first edition, the Gin Festival is back and this year at the Undercurrent in Amsterdam North. Besides the gin, there will be a number of delicious food trucks and craft beers to taste. Tickets are on sale from €25,-.
Rollende Keukens
When? 24th – 28th of May at Westerpark
What? Amsterdam famous foodtruck festival
Busy as always but still worth visiting is the Rollende Keukens (The Roling Kitchens). hundreds of foodtrucks will fill the Westerpark in Amsterdam. When the sun is out, you can bet on it that everyone is having their after work drinks here! Entrance is free but you need to pay for your first glass which you can then re-use.
