When you think of the Ardennes we immediately picture forests, rolling hills, rich history in Belgium, France and Luxembourg. We recently visited (again), but this time we discovered a great way by renting a villa via Ardennes-étape. Discover why you want nothing else ever again, when you visit the Ardennes region.
Renting a house in the Ardennes sounds like a fantastic idea for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature.
Ardennes-étape
In short, it’s a booking platform for holiday homes and villa’s in the Ardennes. But wait, not just ordinary houses, all are unique, and most of them are luxurious and spacious. Whether you’re looking for a cozy cabin nestled in the woods, a modern villa overlooking the green hills, or a quaint cottage in a charming village, Ardennes-étape has it.
The Villa’s
During our stay, we decided to stay in two different villa’s, one authentic and cozy, the other modern and luxury. Both were great, even though they are completely different from one another. The first villa we stayed at, is located in Libin – a small village in the Southern part of Belgium. A big fireplace, a farm kitchen overlooking the garden, and three bedrooms with 2 bathrooms made us love this place. There is a swimming pool, which you can use during the summer months. But best of all, there is a small sauna! It was child-friendly (they loved playing hide and seek in this house) and shops are nearby. Book it here.
Our villa in Libin
The second villa we stayed at was next level luxury. Five bed and bathrooms, a game-room, heated swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and jeu de boules court. Besides the premises, the amenities were also incredible. The modern kitchen is equipped with the latest technology and machines, and oh how we loved the freshly grinded coffee in the morning! Just 500 meters away is a forest you can walk in, with nature reserve La Roche just 15 minutes away. We stayed here for three nights but cried a little bit when we had to leave. Activities
If you book with Ardennes-étape, you get many privileges with their partners in the surrounded area. For example, we rented our villa and on the website you can check which activities you can book or visit nearby. This variates from a local organic farm visit, to a museum, hiking routes and much more. We bought discounted tickets to Grottes de Han, a Wildlife Park where animals also walk freely and a massive Cave – great with kids! On our last day we also visited the Euro Space Centre near our villa in Libin, which was great for our little boy as he could experience the training of an astronaut.
