Where the city meets Dutch nature and architecture
The Wikkel Cabin
We stayed at The Unbound for 1 night and slept in The Wikkel. Basically, a tiny house equipped with a kitchen, a tiny bathroom, comfy bathrobes, merino wool plaids and our favourite, a luxury CocoMat bed. It has to be said that at night it can get a bit cold (due to gaps in the construction) so snuggle up! If you sleep light then you might hear some airplanes flying over, so bring some earplugs. Price: from 282 euro per night
Restaurant/café
Basecamp Amsterdam has their own beautiful bar and restaurant where you can get seasonal food and fine drinks in the lobby with a stunning view. Furthermore, the Unbound Restaurant prepares à la carte dishes and daily menus now for take away, using ingredients from their local garden and from local partners.
Things to do
Given that you are quite secluded, there is still plenty to do at The Basecamp Amsterdam! For example, take a dip in the pond, relax intensely in the sauna or if you have in your own jacuzzi. Play a game or read a book in your cozy wooden cabin or take a beautiful walk in de Tuinen van West, where you can also find one of our all time favourite and secret spots; Cantina. If you bring your kids they can play in the playground, pick fruit in the fruitgarden nearby or check out the chickens and pigs across the premisses.
Love,
Sarah
