Lunch at De Pijp Amsterdam

From cozy cafés to trendy eateries, this area has something for everyone. Next to the lively Albert Cuyp market, there are so many amazing lunch spots in De Pijp, that it’s hard to know which one to pick. Here’s a list of the best places to enjoy lunch in De Pijp, each offering a unique atmosphere and delicious options to try.

Little Collins

Address: Eerste Sweelinckstraat 19F

Brunch of lunch, they do both and they do it well. Voted by many as one of the top places to eat, this Aussi style restaurant isn’t that large, but they have an outside terrace, with heaters. Coffee is served how it should be; it brings you straight to Sydney. The menu changes from time to time, but an all time favorite are the poached eggs with aleppo butter, labneh and roast tomato. Little Collins is open from 9am till 4pm and takes no reservations.

SLA

Address: Centuurbaan 149

If you want to go healthy, SLA is a guilt-free choice. There are a few tables, but people also love to take out their salads and bowls. SLA also makes a decent work spot for freelancers, and can be found all over the city.

Coffee & Coconuts

Address: Centuurbaan 282

We recently discussed this one, and although it’s a favourite with many tourists who visit the Dutch capital, it’s still a winner. The place is huge, looks aesthetic, and serves good lunch. Be early though to avoid waiting.

Sjefietshe

Address: Van Ostadestraat 1

They started out with dinner only, but you can also come for lunch here (also in the weekends). What do they serve? South American flavors (ceviche in particular), but also other fish dishes. Pick and mix, because shared dining is tipped, but not mandatory.

De Wasserette

They have been around for ages, and not without reason. No, this isn’t a place to bring your dirty wash to, this lunch spot in the Pijp is great for simple lunch and long coffee dates.

Café Caron

Address: Frans Hallstraat 28H

Disclaimer: this French café is only open for lunch on Saturday and Sunday, unfortunately for us. Besides this little sad news, it’s worth getting out of bed for. A French style café, that doesn’t look too fancy, but serves simple dishes, made with the best ingredients and by an amazing chef. Wine at lunch? This is the place to do so.

Oeuf

Address: Daniel Stalpertstraat 36

Eggs for lunch is always a good idea – get that protein in! At Oeuf they serve many egg dishes inspired by countries around the world such as France, the US and more. You are welcome at Oeuf seven days a week. On weekdays from 10am to 4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 till 4pm.

De Tulp

Address: Marie Heinikenplein 33

Open for lunch from Wed till Sunday, and they recently got some new owners. They serve sandwiches, a few salads, and French Toast or Eggs Benedict. Lunch is quite affordable here, compared to other lunch spots in de Pijp.
