27 Mar 8X BEST LUNCH SPOTS IN HAARLEM
For years Haarlem’s food scene was underrated, but now everyone wants to taste it. Oh yes, this cute city is buzzing with great places to eat so it’s about time for the ultimate lunch/brunch list! These are our favorite lunch spots in Haarlem.
Finding the best Lunch Spots in Haarlem
Haarlem is often compared to its big sister Amsterdam, and although we don’t want to compare – Haarlem offers a variety of amazing lunch spots throughout the city. We’ve tried all of these lunch and brunch spots ourselves, and this list will be updated regularly. Are you hungry yet?
De Dakkas
Without question, the best rooftop in Haarlem! This sunny spot above a parking garage is sexier than it sounds. Space for groups, and is also a favorite for people with kids. Daily menus, soup, wraps, and salads. But the view and vibe is even better. Our number one for sure.
Cleeff
We only recently discovered this lunch spot in Haarlem, and the reason for it? Cleeff is located outside the city center, just off Haarlem’s Kleverpark, hence the name. By all means, that doesn’t mean it isn’t popular. Oh no, this place is packed during lunchtime, even during the week! So what lunch do they serve? Wraps, soups, sourdough sandwiches – which can be ordered as a salad also, and cakes. There are plenty of tables outside, which makes it one of Haarlem’s best outside terraces. Good to know for freelancers; laptops are only allowed from 14:30.
By Lima
A big favourite by most locals! Healthy and gluten-free options, fresh juices, but also great coffee and cakes, make this place one of the best lunch spots in Haarlem. It can be really busy during lunchtime, so do make a reservation if you decide to come in the weekend.
TOAST
As soon as you walk past TOAST, you want to stop for some brunch. Good coffee, but also cocktails and a good lunch or brunch. Did you know that they also have a B&B and inside you also find a small concept store? Go check it out.
PIP Deli
Pretty marble tables and wooden chairs, makes PIP Deli attractive to say the least. We had their beautiful filled Buluga Power Bowl, but there are many tasty options like smashed avocado or Eggs Florentine. Don’t forget their crispy pastries on the counter, Pip Deli may be a little hard to find at first, because it’s tucked away just after the main shopping street. Once you find it though, you will come back again and again, mark our words.
Native
Every time we walk by Native, they are full. We take this as a good sign! They serve some of the best coffee in town, and although they are small, people keep gathering here. Located parallel to the busiest shopping street, you find Native at the narrow Breedstraat where you escape the mass.
Frenchie
Loved by young and old(er). You can sit outside (which is great to watch what’s happening on the street), or opt for a cozy spot inside. The pancakes are famous for their colorful display, and other Instagramable dishes.
SLA
You can’t go wrong with SLA. They are everywhere, and also in Haarlem! We go here for take-out most of the time, but they have spots in and outside to enjoy your favourite organic salad.
