02 Apr 6X FAVOURITE LUNCH SPOTS IN MILAN
Italian food and wine are probably as famous as Italy’s artistic and historical assets. Milan in particular is great for eating high-quality food and drinking beautiful wines!
Italian food and wine are part of the Italian culture, with Burrata and prosciutto as an all-time favourite. Are you heading to the Italian capital of style – and we’ll give you 5 good reasons, anytime soon? Find out where to find our favourite lunch spots in Milan!
Ceresio 7
This beautiful food spot in Milan is situated on the rooftop and offers drinks by the pool. As you can imagine, this place is packed during hot summer nights. Dress up, order some Cava and enjoy watching the beautiful people of Milan. But let’s move over to the food shall we? Offering a large wine list and typical Italian dishes, created by Chef Elio Sironi. It’s a must-visit if you are in Milan!
Mag Café, Ripa di Porta Ticinese, 43
Situated on one of the canals in Navigli District you will find this well-known café where they make a wide variety of cocktails. The perfect hangout in the evening! They are also open in the mornings for coffee and croissants. The whole street smells of brewing coffee and homemade croissants. It makes you want to get in and try it. This cute small little place is super nice and laid back with jazz music. Really love the vibe and you will find some very nice antique furniture.
Bamboo Bar at Armani Hotel, Via Alessandro Manzoni, 31
When you are in Milano, it would be a crime not to visit the iconic Armani Hotel and their restaurant Bamboo Bar. It’s one of a kind and iconic to say the least. The Italian minimalism is a style practically owned by Armani and you’ll find this in the design throughout the hotel. The restaurant however, feels a tiny bit more approachable than perhaps the rest of the hotel and open to anyone (not exclusively for hotel guests), so when you have some time, book a lunch here. In contrast with the minimalistic grey and white, the food at Bamboo is a colourful display. You MUST try their fresh pasta with lobster! We had one of those Eat, Pray, Love moments where we almost licked the plate if it wasn’t for our table manners. Besides this incredible dish, we also loved the green asparagus salad and grilled squid on a bed of mashed pea’s. Good to know; the Bamboo Bar is open everyday until 1AM.
Panghea, Via Filippo Argelati, 12
If you are vegan or vegetarian, this is the lunch spot in Milan you should visit! Back in 2012 they opened under the name Ghea so they’ve been around for a while. You can also eat glutenfree dishes. For example, options like red turnip “spaghetti” with avocado pesto, and fennel meatballs in a spicy tabbouleh sauce are on the menu here. Moreover, everything is organic and local!
Restaurant Soho, Via Tortona 12 Milano
Restaurant Soho – specialised Mediterranean seafood restaurant – is located on the very nice street Via Tortona. In this street you will find some creative, innovative and extraordinary art and vintage shops. Besides that you will find some very nice food places for lunch and dinner like Soho. You access to the restaurant via an inner courtyard and when you enter the restaurant it’s intimate and warm with friendly people like investor and great host, Wendell. To make the Soho Restaurant worth a visit is the atmosphere, excellent food, beautiful kitchen and design – inspired by Soho lofts in New York – avant-garde decor.
Try the risotto with squid!
Drogheria Milanese, Conca del Naviglio 7
I was very surprised about this restaurant. Not only because of the great vibe, awesome furniture, friendly people but especially due to the secret playroom that is only open to a few select people, by invitation only! Together with some Italian friends we enjoyed a private dinner in this secret room. Behind the doors you will find table football, jukebox, pinball machine etc. Super cool! Furthermore, the food is great! They serve small Italian and Spanish tapas, like Pata Negra cutlets, fried eggs with truffle and mini pizza’s.The perfect night out in Milan!
Buon appetito!
