The best lunch spots in Xàbia Old Town
The historical town of Jávea (or Xàbia as you can also call it), is full of small restaurants you could try. Unfortunately it doesn’t have so many lunch spots as we would like, as most restaurants open from 6 pm. However, try Restaurante Portitxol for fantastic fusion tapas. For a very special lunch, Volta i Volta is a must — a favorite noted in the Michelin Guide. They open their doors from 1.30 pm on Thu – Fri and Saturdays.

Food markets
Eat on the go and stroll around the local markets that fill the town squares every Thursday morning — great for picking up clothes, fruit and vegetables. Another must-visit is the indoor Mercado Municipal near the old church, where you can buy bread, meat, fish, fruits, and coffee. Open Monday to Saturday.
Check our Jávea Guide for more tips in Old Town.
Where are the best lunch spots in Jávea?
Lucky you, because Jávea has some amazing lunch spots, all over town, by the beach and around the region. We tried a few during our last visit, and these are our favorites!
Cala Clemence
The only restaurant on Portitxol beach, with weekend DJs and Ibiza vibes. Dress up a little bit and reserve early, it’s even better to go there and reserve your table ahead, as online they might say there is no availability for a month. TIP: Come early to find a decent parking spot, or you need to walk up and down the hill! calaclemence.com
LULU Beachclub
This lunch spot in Jávea is relatively new and is one of Jávea’s current hotspots. LULU includes a manmade beach and has a lush garden. Not right at the sea, but one of the most idyllic places in Jávea for food and cocktails. We enjoyed their innovating Caesar Salad and colorful Poké bowl. lulubeachclub.com
Café Nomad
Ideal for breakfast and lunch. Book ahead to enjoy great barista coffee and dreamy almond croissants. Part of the stylish Nomad Hotel. Because it’s located near the harbor, you can have a little stroll around or relax on the local pebble stone beach. nomadhotelcollection.com
La Siesta
This amazing lunch spot in Jávea is situated next to a pebble stone beach Primer Muntanyar / Benissero. If you want you can easily bring your kids because this beach is a nice place for them to play. During the weekend the music turns up a little louder, and it’s cocktail time! siestajavea.com

La Bandideta
If you are planning to visit Cala Granadella, Jávea’s most picturesque beaches, this is the place you want to have lunch at. Make a reservation between June – Sept to get a nice spot. They serve breakfast and lunch, including freshly made pizza’s in their wood-stone oven. But also burgers, tapas, cocktails and smoothies. Open from 10 am till 5 pm. labandideta.com
Rooftop Terrace
A hidden gem with some of the best views of the harbor. Come for afternoon tapas and cocktails. Rooftop Terrace belongs to The Beachhouse (great apartments!) and is located on top of A La Mar.
La Casita di Paco
Recommended by locals for traditional paella. Don’t expect a trendy hotspot, but an authentic and affordable place that hasn’t been swamped by tourists, yet. Carretera Gata 10
A La Mar
Overlooking the harbor, this place is open for breakfast and lunch until 5 pm. One of the few spots for good barista coffee, poached eggs, açaí bowls, and French pastries. thebeachhousejavea.com
Bohemians
Lunch with sea views over Playa del Arenal. Perfect for a date or lunch with family or friends. It’s run by the same company as La Siesta. They own half the restaurants in Jávea, but we must say, they do deliver good food and service. bohemiansjavea.com
Poquet a Poquet
Tucked in the hills of Jávea and is best to be reached by car. One of the newest brunch and bakery spots for fresh bread and pastries with decent coffee. @poquetapoquet_javea
La Bambula
Below Bohemians and next door to Acqua, you can find this lunch spot that has a great courtyard where you can relax and enjoy your food. Although they seem to promote their cocktails more than their food (on social media), we can say they also provide a nice lunch menu. Think of tapas, pizza, sushi, seafood or meat dishes. Yes they’ve got it all. Good to know: They offer a menu where you can clearly see all ingredients for those with allergies.

Lunch spots in Jávea with kids
Sure enough, the kids also want something, right? Happy kids, happy parents we always say!
Grand Café Flo
This restaurant offers mini-golf under the palm trees. There is a lovely terrace, and a pretty good kids’ menu. All in all, this family friendly restaurant in Jávea makes this a favorite for people with kids.
Vall de Cavall
A little bit more posh, but a must if you want to combine a luxury lunch with a fun day trip. From Jávea, it’s about 20 minutes drive inland to this scenic horse ranch. For children there is a playground and pool that is free to use. Ideal for a relaxed afternoon with kids, good food and horses.
Acqua Jávea
Also next to Playa del Arenal, so a great place to have lunch with kids. We ordered pizza for the children which was big enough to share, and we had a seafood salad and a club sandwich. Service was quick, and the food came in generous portions. There is some shade for hot summers days, and from here you can walk straight on the beach. Ideal for an afternoon!
