We tried and tested this super cool surf camp ourselves! This surf glamping the Dutch island Ameland, is perfect for families with children aged from 5 to 16 years old. The camp itself is nicely decorated and fully equipped. Every day you are welcome all day in the surf bar, where they serve coffee, cold drinks and snacks. At Ripstar you sleep in luxury safari tents equipped with real beds and mattresses. Surrounded by nature, the surf camps are always located near the beach or forest. At Ameland this was no exception. Furthermore, the camp has a spacious surf tent with all surf equipment, an activity tent with all kinds of sports and games such as table tennis and longboards. And there are a lot of cozy places where you can relax after a long day at the beach. A must try for active families!

Kalumaan, Netl de Wildste Tuin

This pop-up glamping is normally hosting the Wildeburg Festival but now offers a mini-festival glamping experience at Netl de Wildste Tuin. There is a beach with a lake, playgrounds for kids, and a swimming pool. Furthermore, they have romantic huts, tipi, or safari tents. The idyllic village is surrounded by wild nature. Stroll through bamboo forests, along beaches, and with impressive works of art. Active people take the obstacle run of four km or swim a lap through the water in 45 minutes. Do you want to relax? At our various bars and mobile kitchens, there is enough space to hang, play, and relax at a distance. Nearby, you can visit Giethoorn or the lesser-known Dwarsgracht which we also mention in our book Off the Beaten Track.

East Nomads (new location TBC)

They offer private toilets, beautiful set-up bohemian bell tents, and freshly baked bread for breakfast. Again, festival organizers joined forces to offer you the ultimate experience. With your luxury place in the middle of nature, you will find peace and luxury close to home. So what’s different? Last year they offered unique packages such as a 6-course dinner by Ron Gastrobar and the Smokey BBQ Village. If you want to enjoy East Nomads without an extra package, book your overnight stay during the Family & Friends weeks. Choose a (long) weekend, (mid) week, or a long week. You can currently pre-register for 2022.
