They’ve only been open for a few weeks, but Haven Lake Village is already a hit on Instagram. These watervilla’s, located near the Dutch Loodsrechtse Plassen, are the ultimate luxury staycation.
If you like to go all out, get away from it all and taste a bit of luxury (there is nothing wrong with that), we’d like to introduce you to Haven Lake Village.
Haven Lake Village
In total, Haven Lake Village consists of four luxury villa’s overlooking the waterfront. However, the area where brothers Arjan and Hans started their new venture wasn’t unfamiliar territory for them. In fact, their parents once started the harbour Kortenhoef where you can rent or stall boats. After months of preparation and building works, Haven Lake Village finally opened its doors in December 2020.
Eco Design
For the construction of the project, the most sustainable possible execution was chosen. As a matter of fact, all villa’s consist of high-quality and durable materials like recycled hardwood. In addition, the villas are 100% energy neutral. For example, the electricity is being generated via the solar panels on the roof. Whatever is left in power, is being used for the harbour.
Inside, organic cleaning products are used, trash is being recycled and insulation is top notch so you won’t hear any street noises. Surrounded by trees and the tranquility of the water, it all comes together. They have even build a natural kingfisher wall (an
endangered bird species) so it can breed quietly in the wicker.

Inside the Villa’s
So, let’s talk about the inside. We have one word; massive! Equipped with a modern style kitchen and cozy living space, the two bedrooms can accommodate the villa with four adults. Bring your small kid(s) if you want because there are two baby beds available. One of the bedrooms is situated next to the luxury (yes, we use this word a lot) bathroom. This beautiful bathroom has two rain showers accommodated with a large skylight in the ceiling, so you can shower underneath the stars. Goals.

One of the best features of the villa has to be the outside bathtub. It was freezing outside when we stayed there but laying in this heated tub was perfect!
During summer, you can enjoy the massive outside terrace, which features a dining table and relaxing chairs. Dock your boat next to your rented watervilla if needed and relax in hammock hanging over the water. Oh yes, this living it up!
