Hotel L’europe Brings A New Monthly Concept Called ALEX INVITES
I have been eating in many quality restaurants all over the world, but I will tell you this, I have tasted one of the best dishes in my life in my own town! Last month I was invited by one of Hotel L’Europe restaurants (Hoofdstad Brasserie) to try out a new concept. They recently launched their monthly guest chef program, ‘ALEX INVITES’.
Each month upcoming inspiring chefs from all over the world are invited by Hoofdstad Brasserie’s creative young head chef Alex Haupt. They started their new chef program back in September with Thai Chef Piak, all the way from Black Ginger Phuket, known for her authentic, fragrant flavors and traditional Thai dishes cooked to perfection.
Up next was chef Joachim Jaud, the recently awarded Junger Wilder 2016 by the popular magazine Rolling Pin. This young and upcoming chef is Restaurant Executive Sous Chef from Opus V (1* Michelin) in Mannheim Germany. I got the honor to meet him in person and taste his surprisingly 5 course Austria menu with an Asian twist. It’s a taste explosion in your mouth.
For the next edition Elke and I are invited at Hoofdstad Brasserie to try out the Japas (Asian Tapas) from chef Jeff Ramsey from Japan. He was awarded youngest Michelin starred chef in Tokyo and recently opened restaurant ‘Babe’ in Kuala Lumpur. We are looking forward to it already! I hope that this Chef will surprise me like Joachim did.
