Hotelbar Kevin Bacon serves Thai Food!

Kevin Bacon (named after the really cool actor) is situated in West Amsterdam and part of the Hotel Not Hotel.
This is a hotel (but not really) and a hostel (but not really). All the rooms have been designed by different creatives so no room is the same.
You will find a Mexican House called Case no Casa, a Tramcart, a Crisis Free Zone and some rooms are hidden behind bookcases. Pretty damn cool.
They are even planning to ship over an old Volkswagen and use it as another bed/room. Rooms go between 60 and 90 euro’s depending if you pick the one with a bathroom.

The hotelbar has been around for about 2 years, serving tasty cocktails for hotel guest and Amsterdammers. But there was one thing missing. “We noticed that people wanted to stick around in the bar but their hunger always forced them to a restaurant around the corner.”
Yes, it was time that they started with some food. The guys from Kevin Bacon decided to go with Thai Food. They have a small space in the bar big enough for cutting fresh vegetables and a stove. Perfect for Thai food and let’s be real, Thai food is amazing! Sarah and I needed to test Kevin Bacon’s new menu! We started off with some vegetarian spring rolls and a spicy papaya salad. Yummie! We ordered some of their best cocktails to go with it. Sarah chose the bitter sweet campari and I opted for the Watermelon Martini (highly recommended!)

Pad Thai with shrimps and Sarah’s green curry

For mains we decided to go with the Pad Thai with shrimps and Green Curry with Chicken. The flavors are so authentic that we wondered who stood in the kitchen. No surprise when we found out that a little Thai woman was doing her magic. We are looking forward to summer because they have a terras in the front where the sun shines until about 6pm. Perfect for cocktails and now Thai food from 5pm onward!
We now understand the name of the bar. Kevin Bacon is really really cool.
