Las Colinas Golf & Country Club – Luxury villas on the Costa Blanca

In the South of Alicante, there is a gorgeous place where nature, sea and golf come together – named Las Colinas Golf & Country Club. This resort has a 200,000 sq. metres nature preserve lying in a valley facing the sea. Time to take a look!

Besides the awesome location, you’ll find an 18-hole championship golf course, luxury villas, (for rent or sale) and three restaurants. Moreover, Las Colinas is awarded the Leading Villa Resort in Europe and Spain and as Spain’s Best Golf Course. Team Wander-Lust was invited to discover this luxury golf resort and curious to say the least.

Las Colinas Villas

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is an exclusive residential community with luxury villas and apartments. The resort breaths majestic grandeur and serenity in perfect harmony with nature. We stayed in one of the villas with a private pool and a captivating view of the golf course. Wake up looking at the sunset from the master bedroom and dip in the pool a second later. Fancy a hike? Choose one of the scenic trails surrounding the villa as a morning activity!

Our 3-bedroom villa was spacious and beautifully decorated. The master suite has an ensuite bathroom with a rainforest shower and bath. There’s a second bathroom with a rainforest shower, and there’s a third separate toilet as well. The living room has window walls on the poolside. With everything open, the terrace and living room become one. Lastly, from the terrace, you can go up to the rooftop for a stunning view.

Tee time – Hit the golf course!

The first and foremost reason to stay at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club is for its 18-hole golf course. First of all, this golf course has an exclusive design and has sustainability high on its list of priorities. Environmental aspects are kept in mind while maintaining the golf course. Also, the so cold ‘waste areas’ are protected as wild areas to support wildlife like lizards, bees, squirrels, eagles and partridges. Here, nature lives nicely together with golfers, a win-win!

Furthermore, Las Colinas Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has a Toptracer Range installed at their golf course. Ideal for practising your game by improving the shot’s trajectory and the speed of the ball. Or have a friendly competition with your friends by playing one of the Toptracer games.

Restaurant il Palco

Besides Restaurant Unik and Umawa Restaurant, located in the Club House, il Palco is our absolute favourite place to dine. This restaurant and bar are designed by Pepe Leal, one of Spain’s known interior designers. And oh my word, it’s enchanting! Even the restrooms are spectacular.

Food at Restaurant il Palco

In the kitchen, Chef Alfonso fuses local produce with the Nikkei cuisine: a combination of the Japanese and Peruvian gastronomy. Upon arrival, we experienced a live cooking class by Chef Fonsi (as everyone calls him). He made us his delicious Arroz Alicante, like paella, while we tried a few of his appetisers. In the evening, we rejoiced with a 5-course meal in the restaurant paired with Spanish wines.

WOW Beach

Finished the game of golf and all the eating? Head over to WOW Beach. Here, we find a beach bar with an infinity pool on the seafront just a few minutes by car. Perfect for an afternoon relaxing in the sun. You’ll have a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea from the infinity pool, and treat yourself to the local drink Tinto de Verano.

Between Alicante, Murcia and Cartagena

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has an ideal location between three Spanish cities, which are no longer than an hour away by car. With Alicante in the North, Murcia in the West and Cartagena in the South, there’s always a lovely destination to absorb city vibes. During our stay, we visited the coastal city, Cartagena.

Cartagena has numerous Roman sites to visit, of which one is a Roman Theatre only discovered in 1988. However, the 2000-year-old theatre has been restored and is open to see. After your visit, go back to the street of the entrance and stop for a local coffee. Apparently, Licor 43 originated here and is part of the local treat: Café Asiático. A must try!

Generally speaking, if you want to experience a combination of golf, relaxation, good food and a city trip, we absolutely recommend Las Colinas Golf & Country Club for your next holiday! Check out their website for possibilities.

Love,

Danielle
