Located in the heart of the trendy neighbourhood in East London, Mama Shelter is a one of a kind hotel and restaurant. Team Wander-Lust had a little STAYCATION to see what the fuss is all about.

Mama Shelter is easily accessible to all. Whether you are travelling from abroad or within the country, transport to the hotel is extremely well connected. It’s a short walk away from Shoreditch or a quick bus or tube ride from all corners of the city. For those coming from Paris or Amsterdam, the most fuzz-free (and sustainable) way to get to Mama Shelter is by Eurostar. From Amsterdam it takes you to the heart of London in four hours and you’ll be transported to your home away from home.

Home away from Home

I do not exaggerate when I say the moment I set foot in Mama Shelter London, I felt at home. Well, a much more vibey, and stylish home. The hotel is colourful and chic, like a bohemian adult playground. Equally important, the staff is friendly and check-in was quick. In addition, the bedrooms are modern, spacious, and well equipped.

Whether you are here for pleasure, I mean leisure or business, Mama Shelter has everything you need – from beautifully designed meeting rooms to Japanese style karaoke rooms. You can spend an entire day in the vicinity without wanting to go out! Have all your meals served from their open-plan restaurant and bar. It’s spacious and playfully designed. Their menu is also very affordable and comes in generous portions. Best of all, there is also an outdoor garden bar. But don’t worry, there are heaters and a high glass ceiling too, so you can sip your cocktails or enjoy a morning coffee in the greenhouse all year round.
