14 Mar PURS LUXURY BOUTIQUE HOTEL & RESTAURANT
On our way from the Netherlands to Switzerland we made a little stop in a German historical village that you would usually overlook. Wait until you discover this marvelous boutique hotel by the name of PURS that is part of the Relais & Châteaux collection.
You can find PURS in Andernach, a village between Cologne and Frankfurt, alongside the river Rhine. This important river brings a lot of history, and you see this back in not only the village, but also the hotel which dates back from
Design and collections
A little Belgium influence has turned PURS into interior piece of art and the man behind it all is Belgian designer and antiquarian Axel Vervoordt. His love for antiques and art shows in every room. For example, the reception area is an antique pharmacy desk, and the mirrors on the walls are the original ones from the building. We stayed in the largest suite, that houses a living area and large balcony overlooking the Cathedral. The bathroom, without a question was our favourite room and the huge bath may have something to do with that.
PURS Restaurant
Now, this needs a separate introduction because this restaurant has 2 Michelin stars, and has appointed the youngest chef in Germany with so many stars behind his name. Yannick Noack and his team prepare innovative French dishes where enjoyment and sustainability are inextricably linked. Dining here is an experience and Noack’s goal is to surprise guests and have them leave with something in there minds that won’t be forgotten easily.
