18 Apr Restaurant Bridges Amsterdam, had a makeover!
One of the hardest challenges living in Amsterdam is finding a comfy bar or good restaurant that isn’t drowning in tourists (yet). Especially at Dam Square: the beating heart of Amsterdam. Leading you too tourist shops, clothing stores and bakeries that practically all look the same. But when you’re in the buzz all day you’re going to need something more than just a donut for lunch. You need comfort, good service and quality food. And well, while we at it, why not add some cocktails as well. Lucky for you, Bridges, the restaurant that belongs to Hotel Sofitel Legend The Grand, had a menu and interior make-over!
Hidden gem
A beautiful inner garden, excellent sea food and delicate cocktails. It can all be found only a few steps away from the centre of Amsterdam, at Bridge. So save yourself a trip to the Pijp or Amsterdam-Zuid. You don’t have to leave the centre anymore if you’re hungry for some quality.
Enjoy a cocktail while you wait to be seated, or to stay at the bar!
The menu
Forget all you know about food. Forget starters. Forget main courses. Choose whatever you like whenever you like and be blown away by a splash of flavours and colours. Bar Bistro, formerly known at Le Petit Bistro, serves lunch and dinner with flavours you can find all over the world. Chef Andès Delpeut combines the right ingredients and has a special gift for finding excellent seafood. If you want to experience a little more fine dining, you should move over to Bridges Dining, where you can taste a Michelin Star cuisine. With the new concept, they are trying to make this kind of dining more accessible for everyone. If you really want something special, you can order a seat at the brand new Chef’s Table. It seats up to six people and every dish is accompanied by a carefully selected wine.
A New Look
The interior is as stylish as the flawless composed ingredients on your plate. Marble combined with dark shades of green, black and white tiles, golden accents and garden view. Think of a petite bistro in Paris combined with the necessities for a perfect Instagram photo. What’s not to love?
The new interior is fresh and bright
My Verdict
Bridges is the new home for all fine-dining lovers out there. With a main focus on fish but a wide variety of options for the carnivores among us. Because of the two options at Bridges Bar Bistro and Bridges Dining, you can pick whatever mood you’re in. Even if you’re just going for the liquid dinner, Bridges is the place to be. They offer a wide assortment of cocktails and wines carefully selected by the youngest oenologist in the Netherlands, Lotte Wolf. So pamper yourself with a visit to the Bridge, right before you head back in to the beating heart of Amsterdam.
