23 Jan ROEST AMSTERDAM HAS RE-OPENED!
After a major renovation, Roest is back in Amsterdam, ready to reclaim its iconic role in the city. On the historic grounds of Oostenburg, the metropolitan restaurant emerges, where steel and concrete blend seamlessly in an industrial setting that comes alive: endless dining, nightlife, swimming, and gathering.
“Roest will be a place where you can enjoy incredible food, but the evening doesn’t have to end there. From an exquisite wine selection to late-night dining and exciting weekend events – you’ll experience it all here,” says Maarten de Vries.
Roest Amsterdam – a Soul with New Energy
Roest is more than just a restaurant. With space for 200 guests, it offers a unique combination of dining, relaxation, and fun. Picture long tables for cozy meals, a spacious waterfront terrace, and even the chance to take a refreshing dip. There won’t be any city beach as before, mainly because of the many apartments next door. By night, the raw, industrial vibe transforms into a lively space for a little dancing perhaps, as the music volume goes up at night. Expect a DJ playing from behind the bar
Food at Roest
We came over for lunch, and if you’re vegetarian, this is not your spot. At least 80 percent of the menu had meat in it. Although dishes can be adjusted, it would have been nice to see some more options for everyone. Our croissant filled with onions, rösti and an egg on top, was divine though. We had oysters for starters, and they were also topnotch. The BLT however, was a little bit disappointing, being very basic for a restaurant with this allure. Having said that, lunch at Roest is very affordable. Our meal only cost us 12 euro for each dish, refreshing in Amsterdam nowadays.
Wine will be an important part of Roest, and has a little hidden wine seller downstairs. Co-Owner Sunny told us that they plan to host wine-tastings in the near future.
Discover Roest from March 2025, 7 days a week (lunch from Thu till Sun) from 9am till late, when this iconic spot in Amsterdam returns. roest-amsterdam.nl
