Where should you stay in Southeast Mallorca?

We were invited by Eliza Was Here to experience a quiet escape in Southeast Mallorca, staying at the Aumallia Hotel & Spa and exploring the beautiful surrounding area. This charming hotel is hidden in the peaceful countryside near Felanitx, and feels like a best-kept secret. An idyllic retreat perfect surrounded by hills and beautiful nature, for those looking for serenity in a magical setting.

What makes this place very special is its focus on relaxation. Guests can start the day with a yoga class and classic breakfast on the main terrace, followed by a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool with breathtaking views of the landscape. The hotel also offers a relaxing massage at the spa, where there’s a warm indoor pool with garden views and a sauna, ideal for relaxed afternoons. When the sun sets and it cools down, the cozy lounge (with fireplace) is perfect for reading a book and enjoying a glass of wine.

Rooms are full of character, with authentic touches and modern comforts like air conditioning. Some have direct access to the garden, pool, or spa area, making it easy to relax at any time. In the evening, guests can enjoy a delicious (offered on-site) dinner.

The Best Markets & Villages

Like the rest of Mallorca you can also find some lovely markets around Southeast Mallorca. Here are our favorites!

Llucmajor market

Every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, the heart of Llucmajor transforms into one of the most authentic local markets in Mallorca. A great way to spend a relaxed morning and wander around in search of local treasures. On the main square in front of the Church of Sant Miquel, you’ll find colorful stalls filled with fresh food and local produce.

Wander away from the main square and you’ll stumble upon a treasure trove of handmade finds — from traditional Mallorcan ceramics and leather goods to vintage gems and locally made fashion. The deeper you dive into the side streets, the more authentic it gets. Tip: Get there early to beat the crowds and score the best parking spot.

Take a moment at one of the nearby cafés or tapas bars to enjoy some local delicacies while soaking up the warm Mediterranean sun. Tip!
