What? The canals of Amsterdam light up
Stunning objects float, hang or stand in and around the canals of Amsterdam. Things really start to get interesting when it get’s dark and the art objects light up. Visitors from all over the world come to this special festival. You can walk the route or experience a boat tour.

Festival Jan Eef

What? Street festival in Amsterdam West
It’s the 6th edition already where the Jan Evertsestraat is a transformed into a theatre, cabaret and music street. You can see 3 different theater pieces of 30 minutes each at various locations in the street. Tickets cost between 15 and 17,50 and you can get them here

Let it Glow Christmas Brunch
When? 10th of December, Zwart Amsterdam
What? Beautiful vegan sisters are hosting the last vegan brunch of the year!

Sissy Boy Christmas Market

What? One of the best and hip Christmas markets of the year
We need to mention this market again in our calendar. This is one of the winter markets we are looking forward to the most! What? Run 5km for prostate cancer awereness
It is said that this is the funniest run of the year and everybody can join! It’s a 5KM run through the famous Vondelpark. You can walk, run or beat the track record. The important thing is that you raise awareness. Do you have a moustache? Great! (real or fake are both accepted) Or get dressed up as a pirate or anything you like really. Join the run at


Amsterdam Wine Yoga

What? Yoga with a glas of wine (no joke!)
Wine Yoga is a new rage that is already popular in the USA an is now making it’s way to Europe. Girls Who Drink decided to bring it to Amsterdam and organise this rather special yoga event. If you are thinking you’re going to get drunk while doing the downward facing dog pose, you got it wrong. The wine served is actually alcohol free. This way, balancing a wine glass on your head will be a lot easier. Pregnant women are welcome to join! Curious? What? A cool way to get to know expats and professionals in Amsterdam
Join Expat Republic (check their website for more events!) an evening of professional networking, social networking and fun. This event is for those looking to expand their professional as well as personal network. This event is about connecting you with folks who can be of assistance and vice versa. Amsterdam Fashion Week
When? 13 – 16th of July
What? Dutch & Belgian designers showcase their best and newest collections
Enjoy fashion shows, expo’s and dress your best at this summer’s fashionweek in Amsterdam. One to watch is the ‘circular fashion’ show where 6 designers use old items (bought at the Kingsday markets this year) to create fashionable items. Tickets are available from as little as 5 euro and go up to around 35 euro. Get yours here.

On The Roof 
When? Until the 15th of August
What? Music with a view
Enjoy jazz sounds and world music on top of the Op Zeezand with a fantastic view over ‘T IJ. Ticket are available from €14,-. The capacity is limited with only 100 seats per show, so make sure to book your tickets in time.

Wicked Thoughts (2nd edition)
When? 12th of July at Wicked Grounds Warehouse
What? When thoughts become things

What? Mobile trucks with great food
This weekend, the Amstel Park, one of our favorite parks by the way, is transformed into a food truck market with lot’s of delicious meals to choose from! This food festival is a moving festival and Amsterdam is just one of the cities where they will strike down.

What? LGTB Festival for all
If your milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, you’re at the right address because this LGTB friendly festival is bright, pleasantly shocking and fun!

Pride Amsterdam

What? The Pride festival in Amsterdam!
Follow the rainbow and enjoy days full of music, arts, the famous canal parade and lot’s of pink! You can also check out a rainbow market in the famous Vondelpark this year and if you want to head over to the beach in Zandvoort, there is a small pride at the beach.

Bohemian Universe Festival
When? 29th of July in Scheveningen beach

What? Spiritual music and arts festival
in Amsterdam but worth mentioning. It’s the first time this festival is hosted and it’s probably exactly what you need in a month full of busy and loud music festivals. You can listen, experience and participate. There will be inspirational speakers, advice about healthy food and at night you can enjoy music from Omar Souleyman, Radio Noet Noet, RedLight Radio DJ’ team, and othertoffe local dj’s including our favorite girl Emanuelle Vos. What? Celebrating our freedom
On the 5th of May, the Dutch celebrate their freedom and the end of World War 2. You can enjoy these celebration throughout the city. Dance your butt off at Vrijland Festival in Blijburg. Het Amsterdams Verbond is also back for a great party. For the free parties you can visit the whole Westergas and Westerpark for Het Vrije Westen, Museumsquare and the Vondel Open Air Theater for children.

What? The biggest fleamarket in Amsterdam!
Last month we strolled around and found some cool items and vintage clothing so we can’t wait for this month! Pay 5 euro per person to get in. Kids pay 2 euro. Parking is free. Bring a warm coat because it can get chilly, even if the market is inside the large hall. Want to sell stuff? You can order a stall on the  Website.

Gin Festival

After a successful first edition, the Gin Festival is back and this year at the Undercurrent in Amsterdam North. Besides the gin, there will be a number of delicious food trucks and craft beers to taste. Tickets are on sale from €25,-.


Rollende Keukens
When? 24th – 28th of May at Westerpark

What? Amsterdam famous foodtruck festival
Busy as always but still worth visiting is the Rollende Keukens (The Roling Kitchens). hundreds of foodtrucks will fill the Westerpark in Amsterdam. When the sun is out, you can bet on it that everyone is having their after work drinks here! Entrance is free but you need to pay for your first glass which you can then re-use. Facebook
