I stepped on board of The Ark Cruise, and this is what happened

All madness on deck! The Ark Cruise, a legendary party-cruise, sailed out again. This year, they even did two voyages. One in the end of August and one in the beginning of September. We stepped aboard of the first voyage and this is what happened…

A Party Boat? Yes.
The Ark Cruise will prepare you when you enter your cabin: condoms (a lot), sunscreen, beach bag, detox pills and some beauty samples. Trust me, you need all of this. This trip contains a lot of drinking, (guilty) pleasures, dancing, sunshine and little sleep. If you’re smart, you choose wisely while walking down the 4 buffets of food. Some vegetables and fruits never hurt anybody, but never skip the amazing desserts, balance is the key!

During the trip you don’t have to get off at all stops. The party at the big pool on the main deck continuous. Imagine yourself sitting in the water with a drink in your hand while an amazing DJ plays a live set. The party continues at night and these are some of the great sets we danced at: Booka Shade, Boehmer, Erik Hagleton, Fatman Scoop and Lady S.

Sleeping on the Ark Cruise
A rare moment of rest

Another night, other flirts, another bed to wake up in

Don’t Miss Out On Ibiza
If you do get off the big cruise ship, we recommend you to discover the beautiful Ibiza. This island is not only about party’s and beaches. We did a guided tour through the old town (Dalt Vila, World Heritage by UNESCO since 1999) and we loved it. This ‘small’ island has a big history worth knowing about. Discover it for yourself! Also the museum ‘Puget’ is worth seeing. These paintings are made by father and son, very charming.

For lunch we had a traditional fish dish of Ibiza: Bullit de peix. They serve the best Paella plates at Restaurante Formentera. The portions are mostly for two persons. End your day at Hostal La Torre. Here you’ll find the most beautiful sunset you’ve ever seen. It made us a bit emotional.

Exploring Ibiza

The Party Goes On
Another night, other flirts, another bed to wake up in. What happens on the Ark, stays on the Ark. As long as everybody enjoys it, I know we did. For a change we went to see some live music on our last evening. This is another vibe on the cruise you can enjoy to the maximum.

Cocktails at dawn

Verdict: Every day was another experience. It’s definitely not for those who want a relaxing holiday. You won’t sleep a lot, and your liver is going to be tested to it’s limit. BUT, we did go home with tons of new memories, a couple of which I will not share with everyone…

6 x Ibiza Hotspots where you can Chill Out

The first flights to Spanish island Ibiza have been booked. Ibiza keeps on attracting sun seekers from all over the world which can make the island a bit busy at times. If you’re looking for a place to relax, idyllischibiza listed 6 Ibiza hotspots for us where you can chill out and relax.

Sa Trinxa – beach club with hippie vibes

Sa Trinxa is Ibiza’s no nonsense beach club. It’s always busy at this Salinas beach club and arriving here will give you instant happy, summer feelings. DJ Jon Sa Trinxa plays the best beats while the crowd is enjoying a day in the sun, whether that means dancing on the beach or lounging at the beach bar roofed in palm leaves. The waiters will help you with great enthusiasm and the public is always having fun, most of the time spotted with a sangria in one hand and a smile on their face. www.satrinxa.com

Cala Bonita – picture perfect beach restaurant

Former PK2 was turned into Cala Bonita in July 2016. Right away, this stylish beach restaurant with its large terrace and a few luxury beds on the beach became a populair spot to escape from the crowds. Famous Australian chef Karen Martini is responsible for the restaurant’s mouth watering menu, and the picture perfect coast of S’Estanyol beach makes a perfect setting for a beach restaurant on Ibiza. Cala Bonita offers a peaceful and laid back base for a perfect day at the beach. The picturesque beach club is also available for private celebrations, like weddings and corporate events. www.calabonitaibiza.com

Babylon Beach – Ibiza’s first organic beach club

This beachclub is a synonym for laidback and relaxed. The restaurant offers some real great island food. Organic, fresh ingredients come directly from the Babylon farm, C’an Pere Mussona. (When you’re at Babylon, don’t forget to taste the homemade organic ice lollies!)
Although the drinks from the adjoining cocktail bar might be a bit pricey, fortunately, the menu is affordable and suits most people’s budget. After passing the entrance of Ibiza’s first organic beach club, a bohemian vibe is immediately revealed. A long row of waterfront sun loungers, a kids’ playing area and a floating pontoon to hop onto – as your meal and drink await you. The perfect beach club to visit when you want to experience the best of Ibiza: from delicious food to cool vibes, music and mindset! www.babylonbeachbar.com

Kumharas – chill-out restaurant & bar

This chill-out restaurant and bar in the San Antonio bay includes an impressive bohemian decor along with a relaxed atmosphere. Kumharas has the perfect summer getaway feel: an Asian influenced menu, four different areas to dine, a laid back chill-out area and an intimate lounge. The Moroccan style interior offers many cushions to relax on, along with great architectural features. The menu is a blend of international flavors with dominant Asian influence, but all made with fresh local ingredients. Not feeling like ordering a menu? Just simply go for one of the many famous cocktails. Visit this beautiful venue around sunset to watch the sun sink into the sea while sipping on a mouth-watering cocktail, while live music is played in the background. Kumharas is also available for special type of events, from weddings to corporate events like business dinners. www.kumharas.org

During summer evenings, top DJ’s play the best beats until the early hours.

Bambuddha – spiritual & luxurious ambiance

Ibiza’s newbee Bambuddha is already running for place to be in 2017. This venue is a cocktail of luxury, spiritual, exotic and erotic altogether. Owner Jon Moon knows how to impress with this new Tantra Cocktail Palace. Visitors order a drink at one of the bars before making their way tot the restaurant for a ‘Mediterranean’ inspired dinner. This place is also famous as chill-out lounge before a night out. The interior – surprise – consists of a lot of golden Buddhas, led lights, wood and a jungle themed ambiance. While you’re at Bambuddha, don’t forget to try on the signature cocktails. Tip: try the black sheep tribe, bamboozle or sassy Bamburrita!.  The temple of Bambuddha is also available for private parties, extraordinary events or anything else with a festive theme. www.bambuddha.com

Hacienda Na Xamena » Paradise in Ibiza

Instagram heaven is right here – Hacienda Na Xamena in Ibiza.

Hacienda 1
I am not exaggerating right?

Planning to go to Ibiza next year?

I visited this magical place in the North of Ibiza » It’s a hotel, restaurant & spa that is perched on a cliff edge 180 meters above the sea, surrounded by an idyllic Mediterranean pine forest where I’ve spent the first day of my holiday.

Na Xamena Hotel Hacienda has the best view in Ibiza.

Hidden on the North side of the island in a nature reserve and a 10 minutes drive from Sant Miquel, you will find this five star hotel from the seventies that is built by the Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc. I was invited by La Posidonia, the SPA- named after the protected seaweed that grows around Ibiza – of Hacienda where they offer a wide range of body and facial treatments and spa rituals. I received a private tour where they showed me the package deal for their guests. Needless to say I was very impressed by the sun terrace, restaurant, swimming pools and sunbeds. The perfect place to recharge your batteries, but it comes with a price – from 400 euro per night. *This is without any treatments of the SPA.

The Spa

After my tour I took my first treatment –  Silky Skin (body scrub with sea salt and aromatic oils).
I recommend everyone to scrub your body before your holidays to prepare your skin for tanning. It’s as important as protecting it when exposing yourself to the sunAfter that I experienced the “Cascadas Suspendidas – a 45 min hydrotherapy treatment in 8 heated pools at different temperatures that give hydro-jet massages whilst enjoying the view. The Cascadas Suspendas – 45 min access to the 8 pools, including some snacks – will costs you 55 euro.

Hacienda 2
Pool 7 and 8 are the best since you will have this breathtaking view when enjoying this warm bath.

The drink & snack you will receive after the Cascadas Suspendas with Pica Pica treatment

TIP » Watch the sunset from the roof deck when enjoying a good glass of champagne or a cocktail.

It’s definitely worth visiting, but I prefer to dive into the pool, have a cocktail on the beautiful terrace with the perfect view rather then enjoy the spa for 45 minutes. Unfortunately this is only possible when you are a Hotel guest. That saying, it was an amazing experience!
So keep an eye on the rates to find the best prices for next season!

Top 5 » Best Food Hotspots in Ibiza

It’s no secret that I’m a big food lover. I might be a little picky when it comes to food, but that’s because I know what I like.
I’m always looking forward to find the best restaurants whilst I travel. I can easily wander for hours to find the perfect place where they serve top notch food with a great ambiance. I’m only interested in good quality food and preferred not to expensive, but I can also easily order champagne with oysters in a star restaurant.

But how do you find these quality food treasures? That’s easy, just ask the locals where they love to eat! That’s exactly what I did in Ibiza.
I asked the owner of my villa to share some of her best tips with me – and these are one million dollar tips I tell you!

Packing guide » Ibiza

I’ts time to relax, chill, explore…. That will happen this week on the magical island Ibiza.
Famous for being the party capital of the world, there’s a lot more to explore on this beauty.
This is the reason why I’m heading to Ibiza: sun, palmtrees, Beaches, views, spa’s, restaurants, shopping and 1 night of partying!

The Trip » Explore Ibiza in 5 days, and recharge my battery
Length of stay » 5 days
Budget » 600 euro’s exclusive flights

But first, I need to pack my bag! I didn’t opt for big luggage, so I can only bring carry on.
That’s a challenge when you go to this island, since you want to bring some very nice pieces next to your beach essentials.
Traveling light is alway a key for most of our trips but for this trip it’s even more important!
My motto is: Light but also Fashionable.

Carry On:
The Olympus PEN Lite E-PL7
» Mobile Power band for Smart Phone of Mitone
» What I always bring with me on my travels, the Ipad Air
» Apple EarPods when listening to music via my Ipad or Iphone
» My Levi’s denim pocket wallet (cool right!)
» My Levi’s leather card holder

Colorful & Classic..
I love to combine classics with colorful essentials like my Wayuu Mochila handmade bag from Panama.
Tip » Create matching outfits when packing This way you always make sure that all items can be styled with another item – very important in this case, when you can’t bring to much. (I arrived in Panama once with all different tops, but I forgot to bring shorts!)
Of course you want to look good, but most important for me is the fabric. I love soft tops and comfortable shoes.

» Silver Flip flops from Havaianas
» Handmade Wayuu Mochila bag from Panama
» I always bring a few Levi’s shorts, the must have for your holidays!
» Maybe most important is suncare of my Lancaster (my fave, love the smell) with optimal UVA/UVB protection SPF30

To the beach:
Since I will be a lot at the beach or swimming pool I have packed a lot of beach outfits. I love to swim and to sunbath especially after some heavy working months. It’s time to relax and chill > zen!
» I’m addicted to bikini’s. I think I have at least 15 bikini’s in total, all different colors. For Ibiza I choose this colorful bikini of Forever 21
» Always important to bring a hat and I love this black & white baby of Zara
» I serious can’t concentrate without wearing sunnies. Do you know this cool brand already, Ace & Tate?
» Elke and I always wear these beautiful accessories of Mimi et Toi with funny details like this one: Rock Star!

I’m off! See you in Ibiza
