It is hard to pick the coolest hotel in Amsterdam because there are so many cool ones! So we will make a small list of our 5 favourites, including hidden gem cool stays as you can expect from us.
Faralda Crane Hotel – Coolest hotel in Amsterdam
The coolest hotel in Amsterdam cannot be another one than sleeping in a crane. In a what? The secret hotel suites are developed inside a construction crane that is out of use. Every suite is spacious and even has two levels, even with a jacuzzi! You have a great view of the port of Amsterdam. Prices start at 900 euros at Faralda, so luxury travellers have a unique place to stay. That being said, they also host music Crane Sessions during festivals, private events, and during Amsterdam Dance Event. Definitely worth having a look during one of those parties. faralda.com
Sweets Hotel Amsterdam
Experience Amsterdam in a radically different way. Where there used to be somebody operating the bridge from the now called suite, this tiny house has been transformed into a one bedroom hotel room. You will stay at a bridge, getting a unique view of the city of Amsterdam. Sleep on the bridge next to the great Hortus Botanicus, in the vibrant Jordaan area, or more in the nature in the North. The Hoxton Lloyd
We are huge fans of the Hoxton hotels, we call it the cool kid of the bunch. Now, we stayed in this historical building before, when it was still named Lloyd Hotel. We can confirm after a recent sleepover, that it’s become even better. Freshly re-designed rooms, with the signature Hoxton touch, yet they’ve managed to keep the charm of its historic features. This building used to be a place to house immigrants back in the 1900’s. It had several functions over the years, but was finally used at an hotel in 2004. In total, there are 136 rooms to choose from, with some being very unique – take a look at their Gather room, where you can sleep with 5 people in one bed (perfect for families!).
Breakfast is served in Breman-Brasserie, where you can also sit for coffees, dinner, meetings and cocktails. During summer, we expect their outside terrace, as the place to be in Amsterdam. Stay here.

This is one of the coolest stays in Amsterdam because you feel like a local. Waking up in the most vibrant neighbourhood of Amsterdam. Sleep in a mint Volkswagen van, an Amsterdam Tram cart, or in a secret bookcase. This cool hotel in Amsterdam is a space full of art where you can have boozy brunches and hung-over lunches. A lot of the bathrooms are shared because the ‘rooms’ are so unique. That is how they can keep the price very low for making this hotel a great and cool experience. Conscious hotel – keeping us cool in Amsterdam
Conscious hotel is one of the coolest hotel chains in Amsterdam. Not only because their service or ambiance is lovely, but because they try to keep the planet cool by being sustainable. It cannot get any cooler than that in this era. They call it Eco-Sexy. In total, there are 4 Conscious hotels in Amsterdam and they are all located at great spots in the city. Our favourite is the Westerpark location, this area is a favourite for locals around the city. This particular location also has a Conscious Café for take-way goodies or a picnic in the park.
