As the pandemic continues and we are facing a second lockdown, restaurant businesses across the Netherlands are having a touch time. However, it’s beautiful to see how restaurants and cafes rise from the ashes and make the most of it.

This week we would like to highlight Villa Westend, a beautiful waterfront restaurant located in Velsen, near my hometown Santpoort.

Villa Westend

Firstly, this place is a lot more than just a restaurant. It’s a place to enjoy culinary highlights (the food here is pretty outstanding), but they also have a huge beach area where you can lounge and enjoy your lunch during the summer period. You can use the location for weddings, business meetings or birthday parties. You can hire sun beds during the summer, book sup lessons or sail on the Villa Westend raft.

Corona Proof

Since the first lockdown in April, Villa Westend has made the restaurant completely corona proof. Dividers between the tables, enough walking space and all the necessary needs to keep its customers safe. Unfortunately, restaurants are closed again for an unknown period, so they’ve decided to expand their take-away menu and offer something special!

Truck to Go

Villa Westend has opened a daily food truck from 10:00 to 19:00 with our Truck To Go in front of Villa Westend. Here they sell, among other things, coffees, homemade cakes, fresh smoothies, sandwiches, poké bowls, drink boxes & high tea boxes. If you want you can get these orders delivered at your (home) office between 11:00 and 20:00. You can place your order until 19:00.

Cheese Fondue

Needless to say that it’s Cheese Fondue time! At Villa Westend you can now order the cheese fondue box! On Sunday between 12:00 and 16:00 you can pick up your cheese fondue at the boat, across the street from Villa Westend. Make a reservation at the correct pick-up time and state in the comment that you will collect cheese fondue from the boat and state the number of people. You can expand the cheese fondue with a bottle of wine, a drink box, and cake for dessert.
