VON DICE AMSTERDAM | STAY IN A ONE ROOM HOTEL!

A rather special hotel has opened on Zeeburgereiland in Amsterdam. Hotel Von Dice is made from a former sludge auger pumping station. You can now book your stay and experience this unique one-room hotel!

10,000 kilos of concrete has been cut away – and rebuilt with natural materials to create this masterpiece. It has been stripped from the inside but remains an industrial heritage. Welcome to Von Dice.

From sludge auger pumping station to luxurious one-room hotel

History of Von Dice

The water treatment plant was built in the 1970s but eventually dismantled in 2006 because houses had to be built. The two pumping stations are designed almost identically on the outside. One, on the other side of the street, is now known as De Espressofabriek where you can get your fresh cup of coffee, wine or cookies during the day. (If you’re wondering, this is where you’ll find the best coffee in Amsterdam!)

Corona proof

The one room hotel, 67 m2 and 21 meters long, is completely corona-proof, partly due to mobile access. Next to that, everything inside the concrete structure has been recycled or handmade so we can add it to our sustainable hotel list. It’s your own little house in the middle of the city! Vondice is an initiative of Martijn van den Dobbelsteen and has been renovated under architecture: TANK interior design – known from the A’dam Tower – designed the interior, the exterior was tackled by Dorens Architects.
